SILVANIA brings back to life their world of pretty views so well recreated by their music. Some months of testing, recluded in the studio every single second they could afford, have breeded “Paisaje III”, SILVANIA’s second album.
Not even a year ago (January, 94), their first work, “En Cielo De Oceáno”, came to light. The praises of the critics placed it quickly up to the top of Spanish music. The reasons were obvious to everyone: nobody else could create those deliciously dense atmospheres, so sensual and diaphanous. Essentially leaning on acoustic sounds, they absorbed as a crucible all the conceivable lightning.
Now, knowing their chances and disposed not to repeat schemes, they’ve turned their music in 180 degrees. The movement -their music is nothing but a constant movement- takes a new shape, thanks now to the electronic sounds. In “Paisaje III” you can find a bouquet of new structures that here, in our country, are completly novel. Once more innovative, they’re much ahead of their time, they have got ahead of the future to give form to this labyrinth of subtle spaces into which one loses his identity while wrapped in a mist of new and unknown sensations.
Always on the verge, forcing reality, this work will become, no doubt of it, one of the most important in the Spanish music history.
Why this change? We should better talk of evolution. They have just moulded what they worship. This way, in their music we find the ambient that bands like MOUSE ON MARS and SEEFEEL have transformed into a cult of adoration. But the echo of their admired BRIAN ENO, SILVANIA’s true muse, pulses. And they wouldn’t stay in there. The most volatile feelings are present due to those hypersensitive voices, those captivating guitars. Such an intense lyricism as that of the INSIDES, absorbing moods moving from euphoria to scepticism, and taking them to a macrouniverse exclusively belonging to SILVANIA.
The today and tomorrow of an unrivalled band.
