We´re in front of one of the most long-awaited comebacks of the year. PATRULLERO´s last album (“Tortilla Estatal”, 1997) left a nice taste in the mouth of all their fans, thanks to some of the most fantastic songs they had written so far, like “El Halcón Milenario”, “La Danza De Las Horas” or “Más Allá”. So what could the most imaginative, delirious and eccentric Spanish combo to go beyond their own record?
The answer´s called “Mi Vida Va Bien”, PATRULLERO MANCUSO´s best tune ever. The organ intro -courtesy of Joan Vich, illustrious ex-Elefant and supporting keyboards in all new songs by Jaime, Murky, Manuel and Guillermo-, predicts something superlative. And what follows up confirms that is up to those expectatives: melodies in the verge of a nervous breakdown (that chorus !), words that mean to be so exxageratedly happy that they end up oozing black, acid humour -”everything´s ok, my life is ok, how happy I am”, and all the rest of the ingredients make “Mi Vida Va Bien” one of the songs of 1999. It´s difficult not to get trapped by its chorus and hum it frantically since the beginning. An instant hit.
“Mi Vida Va Bien” will be included in PATRULLERO MANCUSO´s fourth album, which is already recorded but for the moment we can´t only let you know its title: “Bodegón Musical”. Well, we can also say that the second track of this CD-Single, “Ricos Y Bellas”, will also feature in the album. This song takes PATRULLERO´s crazy, non-sense humour to an extreme, as the chorus- led by Murky´s ironical vocals- goes “Larceny is not stealing, it´s just recycling”.
There are two exclusive tracks for this CD-Single: “Autoqueja” and “Adictos al gazpacho”, the latter may serve you as an introduction to one of the most tantalizing Spanish dishes: a spicy cold tomato soup called gazpacho. This track is courtesy of Guiller Momonje, drummer of the band which also has a solo career as a space cowboy on Alehop Records.
