On 1998 we released “Un Segundo”, CECILIA ANN´s very first album, which has revealed itself as an inexhaustible source of timeless melodies and instant hits, the kind of songs once you listen to them they stick to your mind forever. Will the reason be their wonderful vocal harmonies? Or maybe their simple but truly expressive lyrics in Spanish? Or their sharp-edged guitars, which serve as a counterpoint for the sweetness of the vocals? Who knows. That´s how the magic of pop music is: when something works, it works. Just that.
And “Gris” -the song- truly works. It already sparkled in its very own way among the songs in “Un Segundo”, and now we present it to you again in two new versions: in the radio version more emphasis is put on the vocals, making them even more irresistible, whereas the acoustic take of the song is a tiny curio, almost country-western, which proves the point that if a song is good it can be dressed in many different ways, managing to preserve its quality in any case.
Accompanying the title track we can find a new song, “Al Revés”, which shows us the most delicate and evocative side of the band; plus a new take of an old CECILIA ANN song, “Me Estás Mirando”, originally included in their first CD-Single, “Nidea” (1997). According to this new version, the band didn´t seem to be very happy with the original mix, as this new rendition is full of rage and aggressiveness, turning out to be the band´s most furious recording so far, though the charming vocals are as sweet and tender as usual.
To complete this CD-Single, we´ve included a CD-Rom track so that you can enjoy the video for “Gris”, the first the band has filmed.
