A new debut in Elefant, this time served by THE VILLAGE, name taken by this French band, incarnated in just one person.
Much had been fevertly said about their demos in so many magazines, Magic Mushroom among them, one of the most important French publications.
In this their first single, we find two songs walking along the best ambient instrumental coordenates. “Father” is a long intense rhythms sequence, programmed sequences and relaxing techno spirals. “Messidor II” insists in those repetitive landscapes and a constant experimentation. The way computers are used remind us of INSIDES recreations and, mostly, of DURUTTI COLUMN, though you can see too how it flirts with the most ordhodox side of the many personalities Richard James has got (POLYGON WINDOW...).
We’re talking about music searching the introspection of the senses and offering inmense possibilities of dreams of future. A trip through new elegant and mistery spaces.
